The Penns Valley Conservation Association (PVCA) released today a new date and time for this year’s iteration of its Crickfest festival. Rather than Labor Day weekend, Crickfest will be held this year on Sunday, September 19th between 11am and 4pm at Coburn Park, 3 miles south of Millheim. Located along the banks of Penns and Pine Creek, the festival highlights the beauty and culture of the Penns Valley region and offers families and friends in attendance a relaxed day to reconnect outside before the fall weather arrives. The live music lineup this year highlights performances by local bands, Pure Cane Sugar and Sarsaparilla. Food trucks will be on site, and all participants will have opportunities to explore educational displays, a native plant sale, bake sale, silent auction, and fun activities for kids. Prior to its 11am start, this year’s Crickfest also offers the chance for participants to run or walk in a 5K “Tunnel Trot” to the old railroad tunnel in Poe Paddy State Park. Registrations for the 5K Trot can be made by visiting the Crickfest section at www.pennsvalley.net. All funds raised on Sunday will directly benefit environmental education in our local schools.
