The 48th Annual Juniata County Crop Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 11th, @ 2: 00 pm. (Registration begins at 1:30 pm.) at Walker Township Park. NOTE: This is a time change from previous years.  Also different, this will be a hybrid event. Participants may walk in person, but please wear a mask in the gathering area. Mask may be taken off when walkers are socially distanced on track. Individuals who think that they might have been exposed to the virus, not feeling well, or feeling anxious about being in a large group, may join us virtually. Whether the walker is at home, in their neighborhood, alone or with a group, they can worship with the Walker Township CROP WALK Group by simply going to www.facebook.com/JuniataCoCROP and click on the CROP WALK’S live video. A Facebook Account is not needed to watch the event.

5k Fun Run/Walk. This untimed event will be 7 laps around the park. The kick off for the walk will begin with a brief ceremony and prayer. Everyone is responsible for keeping track of their own laps.

Registration: This year every walker must register so that it will be known who to contact if a participant discovers they have contracted the virus. Another change is in the past a team or family might turn in 1 envelope with a list of their walkers, but this year EVERY walker must turn in their own collection envelope ( or a photo copy of an envelope), even if the walker is not turning in donations themselves. Their signature at the bottom will be their general release. All walking participants at the site will need to sign a COVID-19 release form and staple it to the envelope. If the walker is a part of a church or team, please make sure that is written on the appropriate line on the envelope.

The Day of the Walk: When the Walker arrives at Walker Township Park, he or she should look for one of the registration volunteers. Next show the volunteer his or her signed envelope & COVID release form, and  finally the walker should drop the envelope in a designated basket. Money will be counted after the walk starts. Walkers are asked to wear a mask and social- distance as they wait for the opening worship and start of the walk. *Remember during the walk on the track, masks are not required.

Incentive: This year, any individual who collects and turns in at least $125.00 in donations will receive a CROP Walk T-Shirt. Walkers are asked to please write their T-Shirt size on their donation envelope. T-Shirts will be ordered and delivered to the walker’s church or team chair after the walk.

Event registration closed.
