Please find attached a QR code to register for the annual Osaze’s Heart Scholarship dinner and fundraiser,
which will take place on Thursday March 20 from 5pm to 7 pm in the multipurpose room of Unity Church of Jesus Christ, 2280 Commercial Blvd, State College, Pa. 16801.
This year’s theme, “Heart & Soul: Celebrate Connection, Kindness, and Community,” honors Osaze Osagie’s legacy and the Osagie family’s wish to bring the State College and Centre Region communities together in the spirit of camaraderie over food and fun in memory of their beloved son and his service to the community. The Scholarship Committee will be serving a fabulous meal of homemade chili, cornbread, cakes and cookies, lovingly prepared and donated by many volunteers from across the community. We will offer vegetarian and vegan options and chili variations from across the world, including India and West Africa, as well as an array of salads and delicious breads, cakes, and cookies.
In addition to the delicious food, there will be arts and crafts for children and a raffle/silent auction with a wide selection of exciting prizes: Gift certificates from local businesses and restaurants, gift baskets with assorted goodies, original works by local artists, framed photos taken by talented photographers, signed copies of award-winning books by local authors, one-on-one fitness sessions with certified trainers, personalized tennis coaching with a pro player, spa and beauty treatments and lots more.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help the Osagie family and the Osaze’s Heart Scholarship Committee achieve their goals of raising money for the scholarship set up in Osaze’s name in the State College Area High School in 2021. Every year, the Osaze’s Heart Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student from a racially underrepresented community who, like Osaze, goes above and beyond duty to volunteer in our community. The funds have helped past recipients Elana Laing, Luis Otarola and Justin Castro-Dixon get off to a solid start in their first semester of college.
To purchase tickets—you can eat at the church or pick up your meal to go—please scan the attached QR code. Children under the age of 10 are free.
